Pastoral Care Intern :: Thembi Myeni

We are so pleased to introduce Thembi Myeni as our Pastoral Care intern this semester here at Wellspring! Thembi’s hope for this internship is to make herself available to our congregation in times of pain, struggle, loneliness, doubt or anything else you are going through. She would like to meet with people one-on-one as she encourages you in your relationship with the Lord.

Thembi is from South Africa and attends Denver Seminary in pursuit of her Masters in Counseling Ministries. Thembi’s passion in life is to help individuals become transformed by the love of God, and for them to be liberated from emotional, spiritual, and physical poverty. Her personal story with the Lord is amazing and allows her to give unconditional love while keeping an ear to the Holy Spirit. When I sit with Thembi, I sense the Holy Spirit - she has an attentiveness to Him that is undeniable.

Thembi co-founded the ministry, Single Moms Raising Sons. She is a single mom of two sons herself, so she knows firsthand what a mammoth task this is. She states, “I juggled multiple roles that placed an enormous demand on me, and often found myself ill-equipped to handle these roles. I understand the struggles and hardships facing single moms who are raising boys into men. It is crucial for single mothers to create an environment in their home which builds a strong foundation for their family to thrive. It was on this premise that Single Moms Raising Sons was birthed. The aim of this ministry is to provide support, resources and a communication network for single moms and their sons”. Thembi uses her biblical and counseling skills to minister to people in difficult situations. She has the ability to bring compassion as she points people to Jesus.

Thembi is available for pastoral care appointments at the church, in your home or if you are in the hospital. She can also bring communion to you. Thembi can minister to you in a wide variety of ways: grief, physical healing, relationship restoration, parenting, etc. The best way to set up an appointment for pastoral care is to go through our Community Life Team that oversees care for our congregation.
