Trunk or Treat!

I am excited to announce that the Wellspring Emerging Adults are hosting a Trunk or Treat for the children and families of Wellspring and the city of Englewood!

Our heart, in planning this event, was to provide a fun space for our children and families in the midst of a turbulent time (also, who knows if kids are going to be able to go trick or treating). We also wanted to reach out to our surrounding community and offer an event in the midst of our move into the new building.

We are hosting the Trunk or Treat on October 24th, from 3-5:30 in the parking lot of 3885 S Broadway. Our plan is to have 25 trunks for the kids to visit and collect candy from. We would love to see different people "host" the trunks, and give them different themes. For example, maybe you have a pirate themed trunk, where you dress up as a pirate and put a 2x4 plank in front of your car and make the kids walk the plank to get the candy. We plan on having a contest where the kids can vote on their favorite trunk and the winner gets a prize! There will also be different activities, including a cake walk, pumpkin painting, and a photo booth.

As we prepare for this event, I would like to ask our community to support us in a couple of specific ways.

  1. Next time you are grocery shopping, buy an extra bag of candy to donate! We will be collecting candy on Sunday mornings, the same way we collect donations for the food bank.

  2. Consider donating fall themed decor (scarecrows, mini pumpkins, hay bales, etc.)

  3. Be a trunk host! We have slots for 25 people, and it is a first come, first serve deal. If you are interested in hosting a trunk, please email me or fill out this form

  4. Invite your friends! Do you know families with kids who would enjoy dressing up, playing some games, and getting candy? Bring them!

The Emerging Adults of Wellspring are very excited to be putting this event on for you and the community of Englewood, and we hope to see all of you there! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
