Weekly Liturgy :: Children and Family :: Week of 4/11

Gather

Christ is Risen!  The Lord is Risen Indeed!   Alleluia!

This week we had an opportunity to celebrate all that God has done at Wellspring! Talk as a family about how you’ve seen God move at Wellspring.

Scripture :: Please Read Aloud :: Psalm 71:14-24

As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.

My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds, of your saving acts all day long—though I know not how to relate them all. I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, Sovereign Lord; I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone. Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come. Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens, you who have done great things. Who is like you, God? Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once more. I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel. My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you—I whom you have delivered. My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long, for those who wanted to harm me have been put to shame and confusion.

Family Discipleship Questions

  1. Read it one more time and this time ask children to raise their hands every time they hear the psalmist refer to “proclaiming” (speaking, telling, singing)  of God’s faithfulness and goodness.

  2. Take time as a family to proclaim God’s faithfulness to your family and to Wellspring.  Praise Him for His goodness and righteousness.  Declare His mighty acts!

  3. Name your favorite things about Wellspring and how you see the presence of God at work in His church.  Explain to your children that the church is a body of believers - not a building.

Confession

Lord, we confess that we have sinned against you and strayed away like lost sheep. Forgive us Father for focusing on __________ instead of your voice. Help us Lord to hear your voice and drown out the distractions of this world.

Corporate Confession

Prayers

Praise you Jesus for 20 years of worship at Wellspring. Lord thank you for how you have brought together a community of believers. Strengthen the faithful Lord and please bring those who do not know you into our household at Wellspring. May we be good neighbors to those who are different from us. May we be a church and family who loves really well. We pray especially for ____________ to come to know you Lord. Use us through the power of your Holy Spirit to draw hearts to you Jesus.

The Lord's Prayer

Sending

May we go out into a broken world proclaiming the powerful love of Jesus Christ.
