Bishop Elementary School Supply Drive

Hi Wellspring!

We want to share with you some of the fruit that has grown this past year from our relationship with Bishop Elementary School, as well as ask for your participation in another school supply drive.

Last September, when Mary Puckett pulled a wagon of much-needed school supplies into the main office of Bishop Elementary School, there was a little squeal of excitement from their staff. Mary then unloaded the wagon and went to get another load from her truck. As she re-entered with a second full wagon, the staff was silent in disbelief. Finally, when Mary approached yet again with the third full wagon, there was an explosion of joy.

We were able to deliver these school supplies to students and staff in our community because of your faithful generosity. These donations ultimately kicked off a long-term relationship with Bishop Elementary. Mary began tutoring at the school, where she met teachers and students and invited them to a program called “Whiz Kids,” where attendance increased four-fold. In December, the same wagon rolled in with enough non-perishable food to fill the Bishop Elementary Library during the Christmas Store. Later that school year, Mary was named Volunteer of the Year.

Small acts of generosity and Mary's faithful commitment to being the hands and feet of Jesus were multiplied for the Kingdom. Could you help us again to bless the students of Bishop with supplies? You can find the list of requested items here, which all genuinely help to meet specific needs.

Supplies can be dropped off at Wellspring Monday-Thursday between 9:00am-4:00pm, or on Sunday mornings during worship services. The final date we will be accepting donations is August 14th.
