Neighborhood Flocks
Hello Wellspring Family!!
It has been such a joy for our staff members to connect with you all during these months of Covid and to hear your needs and intentionally pray for you! I wanted to let you know that we are transitioning our Flock and Shepherd model a bit. We reacted quickly at the start of Covid to make sure we reached out and personally connected with everyone in our community and our staff did an awesome job at this. And we saw such fruit in having intentional shepherds of smaller groups in our community!
This time has allowed Katie, Maddie and me (our Community Life Team) to dream about what this could look like in the long term! We plan to take the model of Flocks and Shepherds and make a new iteration, over the course of this coming year, called Neighborhood Flocks and Shepherds. (A Neighborhood Flock will be a geographically-rooted group of 50-100 adults, plus children and they will be led by Lay-Shepherds. By the end of 2020-2021, there will be 7 Neighborhoods throughout our greater Denver area. These neighborhoods will be our primary space, outside of Sunday morning, of belonging, connecting, and care.
With this transition, you will start to hear of more opportunities to connect with people in your Neighborhood and we are praying for and equipping Lay-Shepherds to care and connect with their Neighborhood.
If you are interested in learning more about getting involved with Neighborhood Flocks, either as a Lay-Shepherd or wanting to host connecting events in your Neighborhood, please let me (tara@wellspringcolorado.com) or Katie (katie@wellspringcolorado.com) know!!
We are excited to make the church "smaller" and more intentionally connected to people around us and to have a place where we automatically belong in community.
