Neighborhood Sunday

Come join us for Neighborhood Sunday this week!! It will be a chance to connect with the Shepherds and other people from your Neighborhood AND eat donuts all at the same time!!

But what is a Wellspring Neighborhood?

As Wellspring grows bigger, we want to “grow smaller” - keep a small church feeling,

create environments of being seen, known, and loved - through our Neighborhoods. A Neighborhood is a geographically-rooted (based on zip codes) group of 50-100 adults, plus children. There are 7 neighborhoods throughout our greater Denver area and these neighborhoods are our primary space of belonging, connecting and care, outside of Sunday mornings.

The Rhythm of the Neighborhoods

We have two “seasons” in our Wellspring Neighborhoods. The first is from April/May through October that is a Season of Invitation. During this time, there are monthly Connecting Events in each neighborhood that everyone is invited to participate in. Then, in November, we have our all church Wellspring Thanksgiving, where we gather the whole church for a meal and celebration! The months of December through April/May, is our Season of Pursuit. The shepherds of each neighborhood work on reaching out to each person during this time, and we also all participate in our Epiphany Bag project together.

So what is Neighborhood Sunday?

This is our way of helping us connect during a season where there are not so many Connecting Events going on. Neighborhood Shepherds will be in the foyer between services hoping to meet as many people from their neighborhood as possible, and handing out donuts. You are invited to find your Neighborhood Shepherd (we’ll have signs on the tables, so it’ll be easy!!), have a donut, and meet some other folks who live in proximity to you!
