Formation Lab :: Kingdom and Calling
The vision of Wellspring is to make disciples of Jesus characterized by worship, formation and mission that renew the city and lead to a movement of new churches. Discipleship is the process of being formed in Christ, and we have a handful of avenues to do that here at Wellspring. We offer Bible Studies and Catechism, which are usually a semester long; we have Life Groups, which ask us to commit to a handful of community members for a year or longer; and we encourage all of us to be in Gospel Friendships, which are long-term, committed relationships where we “do life” together.
We are now excited to offer Formation Labs! Formation Labs are short-term classes, typically 3-6 weeks, around a topic, book, or bible study.
Formation Labs contain components of:
Head: Education about a specific topic through a gospel and biblical lens
Heart: Reflection and dialogue about how this topic impacts our calling to love God and love others
Hands: Opportunities and suggestions about how to take action steps towards redemptive engagement in our world
Community: Engaging in the “iron sharpens iron” process - talking through the topics with one another, listening to one another, giving feedback to one another, and allowing others to impact our walk with God
Over the next 5 weeks of Epiphany, we hope the sermon series will be life changing for all of us, as we explore the Kingdom of God and our part in it. If you would like to join others from Wellspring in living out this big idea of kingdom and calling, we invite you to join the Formation Lab that starts on Wednesday, January 27th from 7:30-8:30pm.
It will be an online (Zoom), 3-week forum for us to engage our heads, hearts and hands around this topic...and for us to be formed as disciples together. And our hope is to think through and write our own Kingdom Calling Statement by the end of the 3 weeks.
