Staff Profile :: Sara Kidd

Hi Wellspring Family!

This week’s Staff Profile features none other than our wonderful Assistant Worship Director, Sara Kidd! Sara reigns from the great state of Arkansas, bringing some southern flare to her relationships here in Colorado. Her kindness is deeply authentic, and once you have developed a friendship with her, be sure to buckle up for just the right amount of sass and sarcasm. Sara also possesses a love for Jesus that overflows into everything she does. Her dependence upon the Lord makes itself evident through her work, her relationships with others, and her wholehearted, never-ceasing posture of worship in every moment of every day. Being in the presence of Sara will truly reveal the love of Christ. Ask her to walk to Starbucks with you sometime- she will always say yes.

Question 1: Tell us about your family.

My Immediate family here in Colorado is made up of me, my devoted and very goofy husband Julian, along with our fluffy and equally goofy doodle pup named Django. We might be small, but we are a mighty fun crew! We love living in such a beautiful state and one of our favorite hobbies include simultaneously cooking, eating, and dancing in the kitchen. If you haven’t tried it- you totally should! Julian works at Fidelity Investments and is always quick to volunteer with me at the church (he doesn’t work there) and a Non-Profit we love called Tall Tales Ranch. When he isn’t doing one of those things, he is usually filling his time climbing, biking or spending time with myself and our group of friends. He is by far the most servant-hearted person I know and I’m so lucky to be married to him! Our extended family is all over the map, from Arkansas to Denmark. We have family everywhere and we are so grateful for each and every one of them!

Question 2: What is your favorite fiction and non-fiction book? What do you like about them?

My favorite fiction book(s) is the entire series of “A Series of Unfortunate Events.” I don’t think I can pick just one book that I love out of that series, the whole thing keeps me on my toes. I love that the Baudelaire kids never give up and always work together to get themselves out of terrible situation after terrible situation- they always have hope that something better is on the other side!

My favorite non-fiction book is “The Inner Voice of Love” by Henri Nouwen. This is a book you can come back to time and time again to encourage yourself towards love- it is filled with beauty and wisdom!

Question 3: What is something weird about you?

I’m allergic to Aspen trees.

Question 4: What is your deathbed meal?

My Grandpa’s pot roast with rice, green peas, cream corn, and a buttered up piece of cornbread with a side of iced sweet tea: the way it should be.

Question 5: If you could have lunch with anyone living or dead, who would it be and why? What would you be eating?

I would opt for brunch with Emily Dickinson, because I’m so inspired by some of her poetry and fascinated by the way she chose to live her life. She was definitely the type of person who had lots and lots of feelings and she chose to use writing as an outlet for them- it would be neat to ask her questions about all of her writings.

Question 6: When church is over on Sunday afternoon, where would we find you and what would you be doing?

(Pre-COVID) At Costco shopping for groceries and eating the samples. (Post-COVID) At Costco wearing a mask and not eating samples.

Question 7: What is your #1 bucket list travel location?

Switzerland!

Question 8: What have you been learning lately through your relationship with Jesus?

That living like Jesus is hard work and requires a lifelong commitment to growing and learning, and that when I try to be like Him and fail miserably, He still loves me. Ultimately, it doesn’t come down to what I can do for Him, but what He has already done for me.
