Simple Marriage :: Go On A Date!
We all know that marriage is not simple, but here are some simple ideas we can practice to help strengthen our connection with each other.
Well, it’s been a crazy year hasn’t it? We all know a lot more about epidemiology; we’ve figured out the design of a mask that works best for the contours of our faces; we’ve learned how to work from the {sometimes} chaos of home; some of us have decided that teachers deserve to be paid WAY more as we’ve faced having our kids learning at home with us. We’ve learned how to bake bread, hoard toilet paper, and use Zoom. We’ve survived a tumultuous election and we’ve pivoted more often than a hinge on a door!
As we’ve hunkered down and tried to survive, perhaps we’ve forgotten to take intentional time with that person we said “I do” to weeks, months, or years ago. We end up binge watching a show or doing other things in the house instead of time together. So here is what we would like to offer you…. GO ON A DATE!!
Wellspring is offering a free virtual date night to all of our married couples! It’s virtual because it will all come to you via your computer, not that you are Zoom calling each other from different rooms in your house! You will get some recipes you can make together (or don’t and just order take out!), some conversation starters and then a 37 minute special on marriage!
Now, I know some of you are saying in your minds, but what if this video is dumb? (Some of you are laughing at yourselves right now!) I’m going to be honest with you, David and I are usually pretty skeptical about stuff like this because we don’t really like “Christian-cheesy.” HOWEVER, we watched the video this weekend and we both thought it was pretty good! We laughed together, and we learned together (And we had a good conversation afterward about what we had just watched). It was a good date in the comfort of our own house!!
So...GO ON A DATE!!! Click here for all of the info you need to make it happen.
And if you enjoy it, feel free to send it on to family, neighbors, and friends.
The link above will work for the next two weeks, so I’d encourage you to carve out time and space for one another soon. You won’t be disappointed!
