Initiative for Faith in Culture

Hi Wellspring,

As you know, we are gearing up for our next season of the Initiative for Faith in Culture. We are excited to explore the topic, "The Framework for Cultural Engagement."

During this time, we will be offering a launch event on April 25th in partnership with our Catechism class and monthly Vespers service. We will be hearing from Dr. Mark Young, president of Denver Seminary, on the topic of how Christians understand our relationship to culture and how we can faithfully move into our world.

If you haven't registered for that event yet, you can do so here.

In addition to this event, we are excited to offer three formation lab experiences designed to go deep with the topic of cultural engagement:

1) Joel Larson will be leading a group drawing from a compilation of sources, exploring the stories of our culture and God's Big Story. Learn more and register for that lab here.

2) I (Mike Sandgren) will be leading a reading group of "To Transform a City," by Eric Swanson and Sam Williams, exploring the practicalities of how believers and churches play a role in their local communities. Learn more and register for that lab here.

3) Sam Butler and Christopher Benson will be leading a reading group of Miroslav Volf's book, "A Public Faith: How Followers of Christ Should Serve the Common Good." This lab will stimulate the intellect around topics related to cultural engagement. Learn more and register here.

Through all of these programs, our prayer is that we would be further equipped to participate in the Mission of God and that our level of faithful presence in our community would deepen.

Peace,

Mike Sandgren
