Youth and Family Update
For the youth team here at Wellspring, relational connection is a foundational building block for how we support families with young people. The twists and turns of the Covid-19 pandemic have made for a difficult time trying to find ways to connect in this way. However, it has also served to remind us of its importance. As we have launched fall programming for all students from 5th to 12th grade, we rejoice in the ability to gather and connect.
It has been so fun to be around all the students again and see their excitement to be together. From early adolescents to high schoolers, their energy to be together is infectious, and I can't help but smile at our gatherings as I watch connections being made - new and old. It has also been a joy to see the growth that the newly rejuvenated connections have caused. After our second gathering for middle and high school students, two different small group leaders came to me excited about how their groups had connected. Each group had experienced some difficulty this past year, and after just two weeks back together this fall, one leader told me, "it's like an entirely different group; they just want to be together!"
In a strange way, we're grateful for the masks and distance, as it has reminded us of the need to be together and to continue to foster spaces for students to connect. We can't wait to see how these new and renewed connections lead to growth and further discipleship this coming year.
