The Prayers Of A Child

We have been meeting with the children on Sundays in the new building during the Sunday School time.  This week I was humbled by the realization that our children are the first in our community to corporately worship and pray in this new sanctuary.  We gave them a coloring sheet of a rendering of the new building and at the bottom they were asked to write a prayer for this new space.

They wrote:

  • “Lord thank you for sending your spirit here”

  • “God help us to believe that you love us”

  • “God please help me grow and thank you for our playground”

  • “God please help us to have lots of fun at our new church”

  • “I pray it will bless many people and it will be a safe place for those who need safety”

  • “Lord, thank you for the beautiful windows”

  • “I pray that we make even more believers than last time and protect us from people who want to stop us”.

Your children are amazing and we are blessed beyond measure that they are leading us and filling this new sanctuary with prayers of thanksgiving, praise and petition.  Please join our children in this prayer as we cry out for the Holy Spirit to fill our new church home!

With Love,

Sarah
